A list of schools we partner with and our school therapists

Since 2019, North Albany Wellness Center has partnered with GAPS to provide therapists at several secondary schools on campus. This collaboration enables students to meet with their mental health counselor during the school day, making it a convenient option for accessing counseling services while minimizing class time missed.

North Albany Wellness Center has AN Active partnershiP with:

  • Albany Options School - Ashley Merback, Professional Counselor Associate

  • South Albany High School- Matt Weaver, Professional Counselor Associate

How does payment work?

Families can use insurance or self-pay for their child’s sessions. Be sure to check with your child’s insurance plan regarding their benefits and deductibles for “outpatient mental health.” You can call the number on the back of the insurance card or visit your insurer’s website.

How do I schedule an appointment for my child?

Getting started is easy, whether your child was referred by their school or you are reaching out on your own:

  1. Reach Out: Once your child has been referred by the school, our team will contact you directly. You can also get in touch with us anytime via our website contact form or by phone.

  2. Complete Intake: We will guide you through our standard intake process. If we have an opening at your child's school, we will connect them with one of our counselors who provides therapy on-site. If a school spot isn't available, we can explore our in-clinic availability to see if they can be seen at our office.

  3. Attend Sessions: Once scheduled for on-site sessions, the school counseling office will discreetly call your child from class to meet with their therapist.

Please note: Your child's privacy is extremely important to us. All information—including their attendance in counseling—is strictly confidential.
